Helping businesses take control of their assets at the Facilities Show 2015

Innovation-Trail-facFacilities managers are constantly challenged to increase revenue, reduce costs and risk, and increase safety. All without spending more. Yet, the risk and cost of maintenance and failure is increasing. More companies are turning to condition based maintenance, based on the actual operational and performance context rather than the maintenance manual, to improve business efficiencies and reduce downtime.

Condition based monitoring forms part of the solution for pushing maintenance to deliver greater efficiency and uptime. As maintenance techniques become increasingly sophisticated, facilities managers are being presented with an opportunity to take a more positive and proactive approach to maintenance, viewing it as a profit centre, rather than an expense.

Asset Handling, on Stand M942 at the Facilities Show, helps organisations to manage their resources and improve business performance, offering four products – Asset Insight Manager, Programme Insight Manager, Integrated Risk Manager and Resource Manager - together with consultancy, systems implementation and training.

Asset Insight Manager is an integrated real-time asset performance system. Real-time condition monitoring allows users to make informed decisions on the maintenance, re-engineering and capital investment required to run facilities to optimum performance. The system’s unique integration ability, through the simple installation of wireless condition monitor sensors, seamlessly links data feeds from Building Management (BMS) and energy management systems to a personalised reporting dashboard. This removes complex installation processes, and enables simple system expansion, ease of programming, and end-to-end asset management.

At the show, the company is launching three new modules Asset Insight Manager: reporting, maintenance and tool store, along with an enhanced alarm detection module. This has been awarded a place on the Facilities Show Innovation Trail, which enables visitors to view new, innovative products from all the world’s leading manufacturers:

The new Reporting module allows users to generate bespoke management information reports in addition to new standard reports covering risk, finance, asset performance, lifecycle, engineer productivity and stores stock reports.

The Maintenance module provides planned preventative maintenance schedules, work orders, resources, risk assessments, absences, trades, and more than 400 regime templates covering a very wide range of asset types.

The Tool Store module offers materials and consumables management and test equipment management; while the enhanced alarm module provides new generation alarm detection using regression analysis.

The product is the first of its kind to provide and integrate real insight into asset performance, condition, cost, reliability, continuity and risk, allowing facilities managers to make informed decisions on the maintenance, re-engineering and capital investment required to run facilities to optimum performance.

“More organisations should have real insight into the true extent of their corporate assets to support business continuity, increase financial control, improve service levels, and ensure compliance,” says Steve Edgson, director of Asset Handling.
