Primavera P6 version 18.8 released by Oracle – What’s new?

For users of Primavera P6, the major release 18.8 is now available. With enhancements previously only available to Oracle cloud users this is big news.

A huge advantage of the new release is that Oracle has removed the last of the Java applets from Primavera P6 EPPM. The HTML-based pages load faster and do not require additional plug-ins. You will find that some of the HTML pages have the same functionality as before while others have been redesigned.

Below are a few more of the enhancements available with Release 18.8

o   Performance Percent Complete Field Based on Labour Units.

o   Upload Graphics to the P6 Database to View and Print from Any Location.

o   32-bit Operating Systems not supported. It is recommended you now use 64-bit Operating Systems.

o   Import Zipped XER Files.

o   Activity Owner Functionality Improvements.

o   Choose Whether to Update Actual and Budgeted Units and Costs When Updating Baselines with New Assignments.

o   Managing Personally Identifiable Information.

o   Prime Lean Task Integration with P6 EPPM.

o   Improvements in Offline Working for P6 Professional.

We could go on for days about how great these enhancements are, we are also experts in upgrading P6 systems so if you are unsure about how to go about it, or what the upgrade will mean for your business just get in touch with us on 0845 075 5886

AIM Installation at BOC Scunthorpe

Asset Handling have installed our AIM condition monitoring solution on to a 5MW Nitrogen compressor at BOC Scunthorpe to allow them to predict failure signs ahead of the issues becoming a catastrophic failure.

Our real time monitoring will monitor the compressors vibration, bearing temps, acoustic and the compressors power levels, while the artificial intelligence engine will learn the normal behaviour and alert key personal if an event is detected.

The consolidated data will allow BOC to make informed decisions regarding maintenance regimes, lifecycle replacement and capital investment.

Our condition monitoring device communicate wireless back to our data concentrator that is connected to a 4g router, therefore
independent of the clients network which allows quick installation, without impact on any other business areas.
