Asset Handling has developed a mobile application designed to offer both new and existing clients an enhanced risk identification and mitigation solution in support of its Condition Manager software. This application provides a holistic view of critical assets on-the-go in real time, and streamlines alarm system procedures.
The Condition Manager Mobile Application has been developed in partnership with The Co-operative Group, after the successful installation of Condition Manager at the Group’s headquarters in Manchester.
It tracks, in real time, the live vibration, temperature and acoustics of designated assets, transmitting the readings back to engineers’ smart phones to alert them of any deviations from normal operating parameters- even when they are away from their desk. This decreases response times to pre-failure conditions.
The application is quickly replacing traditional processes, significantly reducing the time taken to acknowledge alarms and preventing unnecessary escalation. Engineers can now receive alarm notifications directly to their smart phones, and can acknowledge alarms in seconds from any location.
Once resolved, the alarm and investigation details can be entered by the engineer directly into their smart phone immediately, without the need to find a PC. This ensures that the alarm is reset and that the system can go live again without any delay.
The application increases engineer efficiency, as they can use Condition Manager on the move and from any location, ergo they don’t have to waste time trying to find a PC to action simple procedures.
